Grill One-5 closing Saturday, June 28

Grill One-5, a hometown, downtown watering hole, closes its doors Saturday, June 28 after nearly a decade, according to owner Mike Reilly.

Business has fallen recently, and there’s simply not enough volume to sustain the restaurant, run by Reilly and his wife, Stacia. The couple had been personally subsidizing Grill One-5 lately.

The restaurant, located on South Sixth street, will close its doors Saturday, well, at 2 a.m. Sunday, June 29, 2008.

You are invited to leave comments with your memories of Grill One-5, or suggest places for Grill One-5 regulars to try out.

Plush Pig opens on Grindstone

Lampert’s Plush Pig Barbeque opened a new location in Columbia on Monday, June 16, and owner Larry Lampert couldn’t be happier.

“The customers that have come in are already giving us repeat business,” he said.

Guests can order from a menu of sandwiches, burgers, ribs, and other entrees. The meat is smoked on-site, and most dishes cost between $7 and $15.
